Selection of Miniature HD Cams Capture All of the Immersive High-stakes Police Patrol Action

When Chopper Cops, the all-new docuseries from V1 Productions and SEE IT NOW Studios, took flight on CBS/Paramount+, producers relied on a selection of cameras from Marshall Electronics to capture the dynamic and high-stakes operations. Marshall cameras used for this thrilling series include eight CV506 Miniature Full-HD Cameras, two CV568 Miniature Global Cameras with Genlock and two CV504 WP-All-Weather Micro Cameras

Chopper Cops offers an unprecedented look at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department’s state-of-the-art helicopters, operated by elite police pilots known as Air One. Across ten half-hour episodes, the series showcases these “chopper cops” as they utilize high-tech infrared cameras and augmented-reality mapping to support ground units in locating and apprehending suspects, providing a critical “eye in the sky.”

For Chopper Cops, the production needed to capture content from various sources, including helicopters and the deputy police cars, all while being unobtrusive and achieving these unique angles in extremely space-conscious locations. “The cutting-edge technology of the Marshall cameras allows us to provide an immersive and authentic viewing experience without interfering with police work either in the air or on the ground,” says W. Hulsey Smith, Founder, President & Executive Producer, V1 Productions. “The camera’s compact size and robust capabilities are essential for capturing the intense and often unpredictable nature of police aviation operations. This docuseries offers viewers a thrilling, behind-the-scenes look at the crucial role of these elite pilots and their high-tech equipment in law enforcement.”
