Magicbox a company delivering a revolutionary new mobile virtual production studio, is celebrating a banner year in 2024. From national commercials to network TV shows, major sporting events, and industry accolades, Magicbox’s innovative technology has proven to be a disruptor across a variety of industries.
“This year has been a remarkable testament to the growing demand for accessible and efficient virtual production,” said Brian T. Nowac, Magicbox’s founder and CEO. “Our patented technology allows motion picture content, experiential marketing, and event producers to bring high-quality LED studios anywhere in the U.S., dramatically reducing production costs and opening new creative possibilities.”
Throughout 2024, Magicbox’s mobile LED studio, the Superstudio™, played a pivotal role in high-profile productions, including national car commercials for the Dodge Hornet and Subaru Forester as well as network TV hits such as High Potential, 9-1-1, and Grey’s Anatomy, delivering seamless virtual production capabilities on-location and on-demand.
Sports programming saw significant wins for Magicbox as well, with the University of California, Berkeley’s football program and the University of Pittsburgh’s athletics projects. The versatility of Magicbox’s Superstage™ offering was further showcased at major events, including the LA Auto Show and Siggraph, demonstrating their ability to enhance live presentations and create immersive experiences.
Capping off this year’s success, Magicbox earned a coveted spot on Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business’ 2024 Most Fundable Companies list. Out of over 2,300 applicants nationwide, Magicbox was recognized as a top performer for its innovation, growth potential and business model. The seventh annual list included companies across industries such as fintech, agtech, healthcare,iIndustrial automation, consumer packaged goods, and advanced materials. The Most Fundable Companies are evaluated using the same formulas venture capitalists rely on to score startups including: financial projections, market opportunity, intellectual property, competitive advantage in their market, and the strength of the management team expertise. Each of these variables was then used to generate objective and customized feedback and scoring to improve readiness for funding.
Magicbox currently offers two patented production models – the 600-square-foot Superstudio complete with a fully-functional LED volume inside for virtual production, and the Superstage featuring an LED wall and stage for presentations, panels, and performances. Both offerings can be delivered anywhere in the U.S. then be set up and ready for use in just minutes.
The LED walls and ceiling inside the Magicbox Superstudio displays images, animations, video, and interactive 3D worlds in three dimensions. When a production crew and actors step inside, it looks and feels as if they were shooting in that environment. With Magicbox, content producers have the technology to appear to be in any location without leaving the safety and convenience of their studio, a parking lot, or even the street in front of their house. Key features of Magicbox include three 1.3 pixel pitch LED walls and adjustable LED ceiling, a motorized turntable floor, air conditioning, and built-in camera motion tracking.
From parking lots to stadiums, Magicbox’s portable studios empower creators to produce high-quality content while cutting costs and logistical headaches.
