Proven business leader will spearhead Pixellot’s aggressive growth goals; David Shapiro moves to key new role leading global growth in baseball segment

Pixellot, the world’s largest streamer of sports video –  transforming three million annual hours of gameplay into personal stories of individual success – today announced that Rob DeSalvo will join the company as President of its North American Operations.

Pixellot’s proprietary end-to-end solution includes cameras and short-form video creation capabilities and is responsible for successful business-building partnerships with industry leaders such as PlayOn, SportEngine, and many others.

Rob DeSalvo joins Pixellot from Perion, a global advertising technology leader, where he was most recently Managing Director of the Americas. Prior to that, he was the Chief Revenue Officer of Undertone, a Perion subsidiary.

“I had the pleasure of working with Rob for more than five years at Perion. His ability to translate a company’s technology leadership into effective growth strategies, underpinned by strong client relationships, is unmatched,” said Doron Gerstel, Pixellot’s CEO.

“Youth sports are an essential part of the fabric of American life, and no matter what the level of proficiency, every athlete has moments of heroism that deserve to be appreciated, shared and preserved. I am confident Rob will accelerate our ability to make this happen for athletes and their families,” Gerstel added.

“This role is a culmination of my professional and personal journey,” noted DeSalvo. “I’ve been in the media technology business my entire career. I’ve played Division One football and coached youth football, basketball and soccer. I’ve always admired Pixellot as a pioneer in youth sports, and I could not be more convinced that the most exciting innings and quarters are ahead of us,” DeSalvo concluded.

In an effort to strengthen Pixellot’s leadership position in baseball, the Company named David Shapiro, who had been president of Pixellot U.S. for six years, to the new role of Global Head of Baseball. David will leverage the strong foundation the Company has built in North America and extend its innovation and partnerships in this key vertical.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to focus my efforts on driving our global growth in baseball, a sport which has been dramatically growing in terms of participation and fans,” commented Shapiro.
