Bitfocus’ Buttons platform celebrated as a catalyst for AV and broadcast convergence
Bitfocus has been named winner of the IABM Impact Award – Pro AV Changemaker, recognising its role in driving collaboration between the broadcast and AV industries.
Bitfocus has long championed openness and interoperability, beginning with its widely adopted open-source Companion project and building on that foundation with Buttons, a professional control platform now trusted globally across broadcast, corporate, education, live performance, and houses of worship. By unifying more than 700 third-party integrations into one intuitive control layer, Bitfocus has enabled teams in both AV and broadcast to work in similar ways, breaking down traditional barriers between the two sectors.
The IABM Impact Award judges praised Bitfocus for its practical and collaborative approach to convergence, noting that the Companion and Buttons platforms have democratised control systems and enabled real-world convergence across AV and broadcast. They described Buttons as a widely adopted innovation that truly “ticks all the boxes.”
“This award is recognition not only of our team but of the wider community and partners who have helped shape our vision,” said Ole-Andreas Løvland, CEO of Bitfocus. “Our mission has always been to deliver open, accessible tools that enable professionals to focus on creativity and communication, regardless of whether they come from a broadcast or AV background.”
The IABM Impact Award highlights the growing influence of Bitfocus and its Buttons platform in driving convergence across broadcast and AV. With a newly introduced free tier, Buttons is more accessible than ever, extending its reach across the industry.
