Brainstorm, a leading manufacturer of real-time graphics, augmented and virtual production, is launching the newest version of its platform, Brainstorm Suite 7, at NAB Show (booth N2352, Las Vegas Convention Centre, 19 – 22 April). This new version brings together significant advances in functionality and productivity and delivers practical power on a single on-premises workstation, making for a significant reduction in carbon footprint.
Suite 7 brings together all of the Brainstorm flagship products: InfinitySet, the most advanced virtual, XR and AR production solution; Aston, the designer’s choice for real-time 2D and 3D motion graphics; and Edison, the simple route to immersive virtual and AR live events. These applications can run on eStudio, Brainstorm’s acclaimed render engine, also updated as part of Suite 7.
“Responding to our users, our goal with Suite 7 is around efficiency and workflows,” said Miguel Churruca, marketing and communications director at Brainstorm. “The new functionalities will make users’ lives easier when creating the most advanced virtual content, no matter the application.”
With growing pressure on all businesses to embrace sustainability, long a commitment championed by Brainstorm, Suite 7 is focused on hardware and software efficiency and flexibility. It makes seamless use of dual GPU workstations, which boosts the performance of a single licence while minimising hardware footprint and energy costs.
Integration within the suite delivers the fastest interoperability between the Brainstorm eStudio render engine and Unreal, again for highly efficient performance. In a virtual studio, for example, you can input three cameras, compose them with Unreal and output all three channels simultaneously in a single workstation. Alternatively, the architecture could be used for set extension or multiple AR objects in just one render node on one hardware device.
InfinitySet and Aston both enjoy better interoperability and have new video wall management features including advanced options for the component graphics such as animated presets and interaction logic between templates. InfinitySet now includes 360˚ output per render, paving the way to content for virtual glasses.
As well as new features like QuickStart and Teleporter for automatic talent tracking with 4k cameras, Edison now has a lite version. Eddie is specifically oriented towards education, while still being able to call on all the other elements of the Edison ecosystem.
“Virtual environments, including augmented reality, are a central part of production for broadcast, movies, live events and AV,” added Churruca. “With Suite 7 we are liberating creativity by giving artists and designers the tools they need, which are responsive, fast to output, and make significant strides towards sustainability.”
