Presteigne Broadcast Hire (PBH) has made a significant investment in Panasonic AW-UE100 PTZ cameras to supplement its extensive rental hire stock of Panasonic Pro-AV equipment. The leading dry hire and total solution production equipment provider expects to make use of the 45 UE100 4K PTZ cameras to support demand in unscripted and factual production.
“The small form factor and high quality imaging has radically changed the way that film-makers work, opening up a range of new creative possibilities,” explained Adrian Young, Presteigne Broadcast Hire CEO. “Using this more discrete type of camera, there is a greater ‘fly on the wall’ feel to the footage as documentary subjects quickly become far less self-conscious and as a result we see demand continuing to grow.”
The AW-UE100 integrated pan/tilt/zoom camera supports a wide variety of IP transmission protocols, including high-bandwidth NDI, high-efficiency NDI|HX and Secure Reliable Transport (SRT). The PTZ camera has a newly-designed direct drive motor for smooth pan & tilt movement and offers installation flexibility, low noise and high-resolution image capture. It is described as being ideal for high-quality live remote and studio production for broadcast, staging, corporate and sports events.
“These cameras will be highly valued by our customers for their NDI and SRT capabilities, UHD image output, small form factor and wide field of view,” added Adrian. The cameras will supplement PBH’s existing range of extensive Panasonic rental stock, including AW-UE150 and AW-HE130 cameras, as well as AW-RP150 camera controllers.
