nxt|edit brings transcript-based editing, enhanced voiceover tools and a 16-track audio mixer into the production workflow

AI-assisted tools continue to sit within everyday production tasks

The nxtedition team will also be discussing its ongoing work around Agentic AI

nxtedition returns to IBC2026 with its consolidated production platform, showing how scripting, editing, graphics, AI-assisted tools and automation can work within the same environment rather than across a collection of separate systems.

On stand 7.A02, visitors can see the latest developments across nxtedition’s scripting and production tools. Real-time collaborative editing allows multiple users to work within the same script at the same time, while updates to the rundown give teams more control over busy productions, including segment colours, collapsible sections, planned durations and script assignees.

nxt|edit brings transcript-based editing, enhanced voiceover tools and a 16-track audio mixer into the production workflow. Editors can work directly from spoken content, while HTML5 graphics can be placed into the timeline without moving into a separate graphics or editing system.

AI-assisted tools continue to sit within everyday production tasks. Speaker diarisation identifies individual speakers during transcription and can automatically apply different subtitle colours through nxtedition’s subtitle designer. Semantic and textual search give production teams different ways to find material across growing media libraries, with semantic search running on the onboard GPU and without token costs.

The nxtedition team will also be discussing its ongoing work around Agentic AI and what it could mean for production automation. Rather than positioning agents as yet another standalone tool, nxtedition is looking at how they can work across the data, processes and production functions already available within the platform.

“Production teams already have enough systems to think about,” said Adam Leah, creative director at nxtedition. “Our focus is still on removing unnecessary steps and making the tools people use every day work more closely together. AI, including the move towards agents, is a big part of that discussion, but it has to make sense within the production workflow

nxtedition’s microservices-based approach brings scripting, media management, editing, graphics, ingest, automation, playout and publishing into a single production environment. The platform can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud, with local AI processing available for workflows where data control, processing costs and infrastructure matter.
