Visitors will discover the latest developments in story-centric newsroom workflows
Newsrooms are producing more content than ever across multiple platforms, making connected workflows more important than ever
CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), one of the world’s largest independent IT and business consulting services firms, will showcase CGI OpenMedia Evolve and CGI dira at IBC2026, demonstrating how broadcasters can streamline production workflows across television, digital and radio while strengthening collaboration and supporting more connected and efficient media operations.
Visitors will discover the latest developments in story-centric newsroom workflows, modern radio production and CGI’s consulting and technology services that help broadcasters modernise operations while maintaining business continuity.
AI-assisted story-centric newsroom workflows
CGI will showcase the latest developments in OpenMedia Evolve, its story-centric newsroom platform designed to provide a single source of truth for news organisations managing content across broadcast, digital and social channels.
By bringing planning, content and publishing together in a unified environment, OpenMedia Evolve enables journalists to manage the entire lifecycle of a story from a single platform rather than across multiple disconnected systems.
New capabilities focus on collaborative workflows, task management, and multi-platform publishing, helping news teams create content once and publish across multiple destinations. OpenMedia Evolve also incorporates AI-assisted functionality to support tagging, summarisation, translation and workflow automation while maintaining editorial oversight and control.
Developed in close collaboration with broadcasters, OpenMedia Evolve is being introduced in phases as customers begin adopting the platform alongside existing OpenMedia environments.
“Newsrooms are producing more content than ever across multiple platforms, making connected workflows more important than ever. OpenMedia Evolve is designed around the story, giving editorial teams a single environment for planning, creating and publishing content. We are looking forward to demonstrating the latest developments at IBC,” said Alan Dickie, Director of Consulting Services at CGI.
Simplifying radio production
CGI dira is designed to simiplify everyday radio production by reducing repetitive tasks, supporting existing workflows and giving editorial and production teams more time to focus on creating content.
Highlights on the stand include cloud playout, smarter automation and AI-assisted workflows that help streamline day-to-day operations, enabling journalists and production teams to work more efficiently while maintaining full editorial control.
Visitors will also discover how CGI dira is evolving its integration with planning systems to support end-to-end radio production workflows, alongside OpenMedia’s newsroom capabilities. Also on show are new voice and text-to-speech features for creating, adapting and repurposing audio content across platforms.
“Radio production teams need technology that supports the way they already work rather than adding unnecessary complexity. The latest developments in CGI dira focus on smarter automation, flexible integration and AI-assisted workflows while keeping people firmly in control,” said Michael Thielen, Vice-President, Consulting Services, Media Solutions at CGI.
AI, IT and business consulting services
Alongside its newsroom and radio production platforms, CGI will highlight its broader portfolio of AI, IT and business consulting services that help broadcasters throughout their transformation journeys.
Drawing on decades of experience delivering mission-critical systems, CGI works with media organisations on cloud transformation, systems integration, AI strategy, cybersecurity, managed services and change management. By combining consulting expertise with proven technology platforms, CGI helps broadcasters modernise operations, integrate new technologies and deliver transformation programmes that improve performance while supporting long-term resilience.
