Studio Live delivers automation, control and flexibility for Germany’s ‘Dyn Sport Mix’, a next-generation FAST channel focused on live sports coverage
Frequency, the engine behind many of the world’s best-known streaming television channels, today announced that Dyn Media, the sports streaming company founded in 2022 by Christian Seifert and Axel Springer SE, has selected Frequency’s Studio Live to power ‘Dyn Sport Mix’, a new FAST channel, which launched on 08/19/25. The channel features regular live coverage of a wide range of sports, including handball, basketball, volleyball, field hockey and table tennis.
Dyn, the digital-first sports media company focused on elevating underrepresented sports in Germany, is using Frequency’s Studio Live platform to operate a dynamic live FAST channel, enabling seamless delivery of live matches, highlights, and pop-up events across digital platforms, with the automation and reliability of a traditional broadcast workflow. The first live event powered by Frequency’s Studio Live was the Handball Bundesliga match between the German Champion Füchse Berlin and Bergischer HC, which took place on August 31.
“For Dyn, delivering high-quality live coverage is non-negotiable: if you’re a sports media company, live action is critical and has to provide the sports fan with a flawless experience. Brilliant quality is at the heart of what end consumers and advertisers want.,” said Andreas Heyden CEO at Dyn Media. “With Frequency and Studio Live, we’ve found a partner and a platform that can keep pace with the demands of daily live sports. The system’s automation and flexibility allow us to focus on the sport experience, not the complexity of live production; to ensure that we deliver every match, every moment, and every emotion to fans, reliably, seamlessly, and at the highest possible standard.”
Dyn required a FAST solution capable of handling frequent, variable-length live events with minimal operational overhead. Studio Live was built precisely for this challenge. Key capabilities include:
- Live signal automation and SCTE-based ad triggers for precise event timing and transitions
- Ultra-low latency ingest and live source previewing for broadcast-quality output
- Dynamic overlays and graphics powered by Frequency’s Graphics+ platform
- Automated ad insertion and break management
- Resilient cloud playout and real-time monitoring for operational confidence
The result is a scalable, efficient FAST channel that covers a diverse range of sports without the complexity typically associated with live production.
“Frequency was founded to help media companies create and operate streaming channels with less friction, greater flexibility, and uncompromising quality,” said Blair Harrison, founder and CEO of Frequency. “That mission is perfectly reflected in our partnership with Dyn Media, a next-generation broadcaster bringing fresh energy to live sports. In under two months, we’ve connected with Dyn, demonstrated Studio Live, integrated with Dyn’s production workflows, and are now preparing to launch ‘Dyn Sport Mix’. It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the right teams come together, have a shared and clear vision, and are supported by technology that has the flexibility and power to simplify the complex demands of live broadcasting.”
