Grass Valley Showcases Breakthroughs in Live Production at IBC 2025 From Cinematic Cameras to Next-Generation Replay Workflow

Grass Valley, the pioneering media and entertainment technology innovator, is bringing a comprehensive lineup of live production solutions to IBC 2025, including a brand-new addition to the LDX 100 Series camera range and a next-generation integrated replay solution that transforms the speed of engaging live storytelling.

Game-Changing Cinematic Storytelling

Following the successful debut of the flagship Large-Imager LDX 180 at NAB earlier this year, Grass Valley will unveil the new LDX C180 compact version on its booth in Amsterdam (9.A01). Engineered for Steadicam and PTZ freedom, the LDX C180 brings a cinematic edge to live production, helping creators captivate audiences with more dramatic stories.

“The LDX C180 is a game changer for productions looking to blend cinematic artistry with the immediacy of live coverage,” says Paul de Bresser, Product Manager for Cameras at Grass Valley. “Maintaining all of the purpose-built features of the flagship LDX 180, the LDX C180’s form-factor allows creative teams to capture moments with a new level of drama, intimacy, and impact.”

Featuring the same in-house-developed 10K Super 35 Xenios imager as its full sized sibling LDX 180, the new compact offering captures true cinematic depth-of-field while being purpose-built for the fast-paced realities of live production environments. Both the LDX 180 and LDX C180 make their European debut at IBC 2025, offering media companies the ability to completely redefine storytelling while delivering native UHD output with unparalleled visual richness.

At IBC, Grass Valley is unveiling new innovations across the full LDX 100 Series. The LDX 110 Series gains a new UHD/HDR option, while every model in the LDX 100 Series now supports RF and 5G solutions through partner Vislink, respectively enabling cable-less roaming and direct low-latency contribution into AMPP OS. A new ND filter configuration gives shaders precise 1 F-stop exposure control for flawless HDR and SDR results under all conditions. An optional Optical Low-Pass Filter minimizes interference from the likes of coarse LED walls while preserving detail, contrast and vibrancy, allowing customers to invest in cutting-edge imaging today and upgrade their wider facilities at their own pace.

Also being showcased is a new 12G-SDI XCU Cradle for installations requiring dedicated 12G outputs instead of hybrid/IP. Together, these updates mark a major leap forward in camera performance and workflow flexibility.

Next-Generation Production Replay

Grass Valley’s new Production Replay solution will make its debut in Amsterdam, bringing together the company’s rich heritage in replay with the power of AMPP OS, its software-defined platform. Production Replay X enables operators to take in multi-camera inputs, quickly mark in/out points, and deliver instant replays and playlists with the responsiveness expected in live sports and entertainment.

A standout feature is its native integration with Framelight X, Grass Valley’s leading Media and Production Asset Management solution. As content is ingested in Production Replay X, it is immediately available for growing file editing, highlight creation, and fast-turnaround publishing; without media movement or delay and wherever creative talents may be located. Users can then access and play back content both within Production Replay X itself, or send it directly to Playout X for linear transmission or digital distribution.

“With Production Replay X natively integrated into Framelight X, we’re collapsing the gap between capture and content delivery,” says Trevor Sword, Senior Product Manager for Live Applications at Grass Valley. “Replay operators and producers gain the agility to create highlights, edit, and publish at lightning speed, all within a unified workflow that reduces complexity and accelerates content to air.”

K-Frame VXP Now Shipping

IBC 2025 also marks the European launch of the K-Frame VXP, a sub-compact addition to Grass Valley’s acclaimed K-Frame XP switcher lineup. Delivering the same advanced features of its larger counterparts – including native 12G support and internal HDR(HLG) <> SDR color mapping – the K-Frame VXP offers a robust 48×24 IO footprint, ideal for productions requiring high-end capability in a smaller package.

On show with the K-Frame VXP will be the new 3-stripe Karrera control panel, with a 2-stripe configuration also available. Positioned as a mid-sized option, the Karrera panels complete Grass Valley’s control surface family – sitting alongside the enterprise-level Kayenne panel and the compact Korona panel – all fully supported by VXP and the wider K-Frame switcher offerings, giving productions of all sizes and budgets the flexibility to access top-tier switcher performance.

Live Production Tools: Compact Power, High End Performance

Grass Valley will also showcase advancements and expansions to AMPP Automation, first announced at NAB 2025, which uniquely enables operators to control and automate production environments wherever they are located – whether on-premises, in the cloud, or across hybrid workflows. No matter where the operator is, AMPP Automation delivers consistent, instant and unified control for live production teams.

At IBC 2025, Grass Valley will also introduce the new Ignite Protocol Core to AMPP Automation, providing instant access to more than 60 additional control integrations for third party on-premises control. With this newly expanded device control set, AMPP Automation is rapidly evolving to support news and media productions at scale, further illustrating how AMPP is bridging the gap between traditional and software-defined workflows while driving new levels of integration and efficiency across the production chain.
