LiveU’s most ambitious deployment yet spans all 16 stadiums across the US, Canada and Mexico – with LIQ™ further enhancing US transmissions.
The 2026 World Football Championship will be the most operationally complex in the event’s 96-year history – spanning 48 teams, 104 matches, 16 stadiums, and three countries over six weeks. The tournament is set to be the biggest event that LiveU has enabled to date.
An event of this scale draws on the full breadth of LiveU’s customer base – from global sports broadcasters, news organizations and digital creators to public safety agencies. The logistical complexity alone is unprecedented and LiveU is meeting the challenge with its most complete product and service offering for any single live event – backing it up with experienced teams stationed on-site at every major venue, providing 24/7 technical support. With crews moving between stadiums, cities, and borders, LiveU ensures seamless operational continuity across every location.
Broadcasters will be provided with LiveU field units, intelligent connectivity, logistical support, and cloud infrastructure, allowing video crews of all sizes to transmit every moment on and off the pitch, across the US, Canada and Mexico, without interruption.
LiveU IQ (LIQ™) brings a new level of connectivity intelligence to this deployment, continuously analyzing available cellular bandwidth and automatically switching to the best-performing networks, enabling crews to go live even when stadium networks hit peak load. LIQ is available at US venues for this tournament. Together with LiveU’s field units and cloud solutions spanning recording, production, and distribution, customers arrive at each match with the operational confidence to focus on storytelling, not logistics. LIQ has already proven itself on the world stage at the recent Winter Games, delivering 36% higher average bitrates.
LiveU will also provide its largest data packages for a single event – up to 1TB with the option for additional capacity – giving crews the ability to run multiple simultaneous feeds without rationing bandwidth. For the first time, LiveU is bringing its full production stack to a single tournament. LiveU Record simultaneously captures every live feed to the cloud at full broadcast quality, ensuring nothing is lost if a connection drops. And LiveU Nexus lets broadcasters pull any IP-based source – remote commentary, a social stream, a guest interview – directly into their broadcast chain, no additional hardware required.
Quotes from Ophir Zardok, LiveU’s Head of Sports Strategy and Business Development:
“We will ensure full coverage across all 16 venues, with the ability to supply equipment at any location for any client, and the flexibility our clients need. In 2022, Qatar drew a reported five billion viewers across TV and digital platforms worldwide. This year’s tournament could exceed this milestone – setting a new precedent for broadcasters and creating historic moments.”
“LIQ is a game-changer for global broadcasters, online media outlets, streamers and brand activators who will be relying on LiveU for unmatched connectivity and support. When the world is watching, there is no margin for error. LiveU exists precisely for moments like this, and we are ready to support our clients every step of the way.”
