KitPlus Show has appointed Matt Snow as event director, to drive forward the growing programme of the shows.
These regional events have proved to be extremely popular with visitors and are seen as a cost-effective way for vendors to reach a broad audience.
Each KitPlus Show is an independent, free to attend, one day event. In 2023, shows are planned for Salford, Glasgow and London. Alongside an exhibition, the events also include seminars and workshops, as well as the opportunity for training sessions.
The shows are part of the broad offering from KitPlus, which has been providing knowledge and expertise to the industry since 2005.
Simon Tillyer and Matt Robbins started with a magazine and have seen the service grow to include video, equipment sales and events.
They led the way with targeted, professionally produced online video more than a decade ago, and KitPlus TV is now extremely popular. Most recently, KitPlus has added auctions of broadcast equipment to its portfolio, with online sales six times a year.
The team organised its first exhibitions in 2013, and the KitPlus Show as it is now known was launched in 2015, even managing to hold two Covid-secure shows in 2021.
The continuing popularity of these informal but informative events has driven the need for expansion.
“The range of services we offer the industry – from video production to auctions and events – has grown to the extent that Matt Robbins and I are fully stretched,” said KitPlus director Simon Tillyer.
“Our ethic has always been to deliver personalised high-quality services, so we looked around to find someone to join us who had the same values.
“Matt Snow is very knowledgeable and widely known in media circles, and has an excellent track record in events and organisation,” Tillyer continued.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved in the KitPlus Shows, and his reputation and breadth of industry understanding make him the ideal candidate to drive it forward to even greater things in the future.”
Matt Snow added “Having known Simon and Matt for around 15 years and attending many KitPlus shows myself, I appreciate the great reputation they have for the brilliant work they do in the broadcast sector.
“This is an opportunity where I can really make a difference.
“The potential for KitPlus Shows is tremendous,” Snow explained. “Our goal is to continue to listen and learn from all our partners so we can now make the events even stronger for key industry visitors and exhibitors alike.
“We have exciting plans, and it’s going to be great working with the team and so many more broadcast friends and colleagues once again.”
