Integration eliminates ingest bottlenecks by ensuring content is immediately usable across cloud and hybrid editorial workflows. See it at NAB 2026.
Telestream, a global leader in media workflow technologies, today announces a new integration with Mimir, a cloud-native media collaboration and production platform, to deliver seamless ingest, processing, and editorial workflows for modern news, sports, and broadcast environments.
Showcased at NAB 2026 (Telestream booth W1503 and Mimir N2850), the integration connects Telestream’s Vantage and Live Capture solutions with Mimir’s cloud-native asset management platform.
Built on Mimir’s open REST APIs with full support for Mimir’s metadata model, the integration ensures assets don’t just arrive faster – they arrive with the context and structure required for immediate search, collaboration, and editorial use, enabling customers to move from ingest to editorial without delay.
Through automated normalization, metadata enrichment, quality control, and processing, incoming media is not only available faster but also immediately usable within the Mimir platform without additional steps or reprocessing, ensuring that content is production-ready the moment it arrives.
“This integration ensures that content is ready to use the moment it enters the editorial workflow, whether it’s coming from the field or a live feed. By combining automated processing with flexible cloud and hybrid deployment models, we’re removing friction and helping teams move faster without changing how they operate. This is a significant advantage, especially for fast-paced sport and news productions,” said Richard Andes, Vice President of Product Management at Telestream.
“Too often, ‘integration’ still means extra steps and workarounds. What matters here is that Telestream and Mimir together can turn ingest into the start of editorial – not a bottleneck before it. When content is production-ready the moment it arrives, teams can move faster, stay aligned, and keep momentum through the most time-critical workflows, whether they’re operating in the cloud, on-prem, or across both,” adds Steinar Søreide, Chief Technology Officer, Mimir.
Speed from Ingest to Editorial
The integration brings together Telestream’s Global Ingest processing and automation capabilities with Mimir’s collaborative cloud-native platform to create a streamlined, production-ready workflow that supports both centralized and distributed production models.
Telestream handles the capture, normalization, processing, metadata enrichment, and quality control of incoming media before it is delivered into the Mimir environment. Combined with support for “edit-while-ingest,” teams can immediately begin working with content and growing files without waiting for ingest workflows to complete or performing additional preparation.
As Telestream continues to expand the scope of Global Ingest, this model extends further with UP.Ingest and UP.Capture. UP.Ingest enables camera card and file-based contributions to be processed and prepared directly in the cloud, while UP.capture introduces cloud-native SRT ingest for live feeds. Together, these capabilities support a more distributed, cloud-first production model while maintaining the same principles of structured metadata, automation, and production-ready workflows.
Hybrid and Full Cloud Options
The Telestream + Mimir integration supports both fully cloud-based and hybrid configurations. Broadcasters can extend existing on-premises infrastructure into the cloud without disruption, maintaining control over operations and costs while modernizing their production workflows.
File-based and Live Workflows
The Telestream–Mimir integration supports both file-based and live ingest workflows, ensuring content is consistently delivered in a production-ready state.
Using Telestream Vantage workflows, incoming media, including camera cards, user-generated content, and file-based contributions, can be automatically:
-
Normalized into formats supported by Mimir
-
Enriched with metadata and AI-generated information
-
Processed, transcoded, and quality-controlled
-
Delivered directly into the Mimir cloud environment
Telestream Live Capture enables direct contribution of live feeds into the Mimir platform, making live content accessible while it is still being recorded. Live content can be:
-
Captured from SRT, SDI, ST 2110, or IP sources
-
Recorded and uploaded directly into Mimir storage
-
Registered with metadata and proxies for immediate editorial access
Reporter-Driven Production
This integration is especially useful for multimedia journalist (MMJ) workflows where reporters capture, edit, and submit their own content from the field. Telestream processing pipelines simplify the process by:
-
Conforming camera formats automatically
-
Adding metadata and contextual information
-
Delivering assets directly into Mimir
This ensures that content contributed from the field is immediately ready for editorial use, reducing friction between acquisition and production.
