Volinga announced the release of Volinga Plugin Pro 0.8.0, a major update to its real-time Gaussian Splat plugin for Unreal Engine that transforms how virtual production, VR, and interactive experiences are built and delivered.
This release introduces a completely redesigned licensing system, Deployment Licenses for watermark-free distribution, and new performance-optimized rendering modes, enabling studios to move from experimentation to full-scale deployment faster and with fewer technical barriers.
With Volinga Plugin Pro 0.8.0, Volinga evolves from a powerful production tool into a deployable platform for real-time experiences.
From Studio to Audience Without Friction
At the heart of Plugin Pro 0.8.0 is a new in-engine License Manager that allows teams to activate, manage, and scale Volinga directly inside Unreal Engine. This removes the need for external configuration files and dramatically simplifies deployment across multi-node LED volumes, studio pipelines, and distributed teams.
In addition, Volinga introduces Deployment Licenses, a long-requested capability that allows Unreal Engine projects built with Volinga to be packaged and distributed watermark-free, without requiring any Volinga license on the end-user machine.
This unlocks delivery for:
Performance and Visual Fidelity for Demanding Real-Time Pipelines
Volinga Plugin Pro 0.8.0 also introduces two new rendering modes designed for high-pressure real-time environments.
Performance Preferred Mode delivers significantly higher frame rates and more stable playback, making it ideal for LED volumes, camera-tracked stages, and multi-node clusters where every frame matters.
Translucency Mode adds a new translucency pipeline with dedicated base and translucency passes, allowing Gaussian Splats to blend cleanly with volumetrics, skies, and atmospheric effects (a critical requirement for cinematic virtual production).
A New Era for Real-Time Gaussian Splats
“With Plugin Pro 0.8.0, we’re removing the final barriers between creating real-time worlds and actually delivering them,” said Fernando Rivas Manzaneque, CEO and Co-Founder of Volinga. “Studios can now deploy Volinga-powered experiences across LED stages, VR headsets, museums, and client environments, without watermarks, licensing friction, or performance compromises.”
Availability
Volinga Plugin Pro 0.8.0 is available starting January 29, 2026. The release includes support for Unreal Engine 5.7, ensuring compatibility with the latest real-time production pipelines.
Studios, creators, and developers can download the update or request a trial for VR and Deployment Licenses to begin sending real-time Gaussian Splat experiences today.
