Whisper has been appointed as Wimbledon Broadcast Services (WBS) production partner for the tennis championships in 2023 and 2024.

The extensive contract will see Whisper produce the world feed, international highlights, a creative preview film and an official film of The Championships.

In addition, Whisper has been tasked to generate a pool of entertaining and engaging content for the AELTC (All England Lawn and Tennis Club), ensuring audiences receive a best-in-class experience, regardless of their consumption platform or format.

Whisper and WBS are already working together on ambitious and innovative plans for the upcoming Championships.

The Championships continues to be recognised as the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, with more than 500,000 visitors attending each year and millions more watching around the world.

As leaders in delivering sport as entertainment, Whisper will look to deliver ambitious content around the celebrated event and further amplify the iconic Wimbledon brand.

Last year Whisper delivered the historic UEFA Women’s EURO with the BBC and was also host broadcaster for the delayed RLWC2021, with both achieving record-breaking audiences.

In 2022, Whisper worked with the LTA, delivering digital content to broaden the appeal of the sport, including a series with double-amputee racer Billy Monger promoting wheelchair tennis and high-profile content with Andy Murray.

Paul Davies, Head of Broadcast, Production & Media Rights at the AELTC, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Whisper; their production flair and storytelling skills will deliver fresh, creative content to our growing global audience.

“Working alongside some of the most successful sports properties, Whisper have changed the landscape in sports production, and we look forward to showcasing their output to our broadcasters, commercial partners, and across our owned platforms.”

Whisper Managing Director, Mark Cole added: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the biggest brands in world sport and we couldn’t be happier to be partnering with the AELTC to deliver high-quality broadcast and digital content across the next two years.

“We are confident our creative films, engaging storytelling and innovative approach will create a buzz around The Championships and enhance the fan experience.

“With a focus on entertainment, our content will aim to stand out and bring in new, younger audiences to this world-class sporting event”.

Whisper works on many top-level sports and is also UEFA’s broadcast and digital content production partner. A five-times Broadcast Best Places to Work, it won Best Sports Entertainment Show for the last two years (‘Today in Tokyo’ in 2021 and C4F1 Highlights in 2022).
