Broadcast, post, film and TV technology supplier Dark Matter Technologies (DMT) has announced that it will appear at IBC 2022 (9-12 September, Amsterdam RAI) on the stand of its recently appointed client, Facilis Technology (7.C35).
A leading provider of high-performance shared storage solutions, Facilis – which is now represented by DMT for sales in the EMEA region – will showcase a number of its latest products, including the new 8.2 version of the Facilis Shared File System featuring Facilis WANLink.
Based in Pinner, London, DMT signed a deal in May 2022 to provide sales assistance with quotes, configurations, training and technical support for all Facilis products.
Spares and demo equipment are now housed at the DMT labs, and resellers are welcome to request evaluation units for prospective clients.
Commenting on the new partnership, Facilis CMO Jim McKenna said: “The company is excited to have access to a firm with a laser-focus on our market, and the relationships to back it up.
“Our European activity has been brisk, and all of our resellers and customers will benefit from the technical and logistical knowledge that DMT brings to the table.”
Among the solutions to be demonstrated on the Facilis stand will be the new 8.2 version of the Facilis Shared File System featuring WANLink, which is designed to provide a secure, remote link to Facilis storage through the same Facilis Console software used in the facility.
WANLink Client can provide secure storage access without the latency and complexity of a VPN and is available at no additional cost.
Facilis will also be presenting the latest updates to Smart Access Rules, which is a graphical interface that allows administrators to add custom policies to volume resources, enabling them to provide or deny access for users or groups.
In addition, there will be a focus on the latest workflow features in FastTracker Asset Management. Included with every Facilis system, FastTracker enables users to index, tag, search and access video, audio and still format media across all connected storage.
“Like so many in the industry, we are delighted at the return of the in-person IBC Show after three years and are looking forward to showcasing our new partnership with the team at Facilis,” says Holly Rowsell, managing director at Dark Matter Technologies.
“The popularity of Facilis’ solutions across the broadcast, film & post sectors underlines the brilliance of its range, which can provide all of the shared storage and dynamic workflow capabilities needed for today’s evolving media environments.
“We are already working with Facilis to further optimise their presence throughout the EMEA region so that as many organisations as possible can benefit from their powerful storage solutions.”
