Human Machine Interaction and display technology innovator Densitron has announced the appointment of a new reseller for Benelux. Based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Digital & Media Solutions (D&MS) has a distinguished track-record as a broadcast systems integrator and has also served as a reseller for leading professional brands including Grass Valley and Yamaha.
In recent years Densitron has provided its solutions, notably the Intelligent Display System (IDS), for a host of D&MS projects involving national and regional broadcasting operations. Now, with a formalised reseller arrangement in place, D&MS will be able to focus on increasing the profile of the IDS in core broadcast sectors, as well as other potential market areas such as theatres, cinemas, government buildings and corporate facilities.
Reuben Such, global business director of Densitron IDS, says that the relationship with D&MS has evolved naturally over time: “We had done some work with them at the Media Park in Hilversum, and they had mentioned on several occasions that they would like to do more to develop IDS in the Benelux region. Also, in their diverse portfolio of media projects they have always placed an emphasis on identifying ‘products that make life easier’ – a description that fits IDS perfectly.”
With D&MS now leading the Benelux reselling effort, the scalable, network-based modular IDS is expected to resonate in multiple markets throughout the region, including pro-AV, broadcast and corporate AV. IDS is an extremely flexible control solution that offers ease of integration and configuration, and this means that it has great potential beyond what might be termed traditional broadcast – for example, in facilities such as courtrooms and government buildings.
Jan Derksen, managing director of D&MS, affirms the company’s intention to support the IDS solution in multiple markets. “With more and more companies in broadcast requiring an agile control solution, we anticipate increased demand for IDS to be specified in broadcast centres, OB facilities and remote production,” he says. “But with our long-term presence in professional install, we also look forward to introducing IDS to potential customers in other markets and applications where we believe it has strong potential.”
