WESTMINSTER, GREATER LONDON — February 7, 2024 – Jigsaw24 Media has signed a vendor partnership deal with the leading innovator of sustainable, mass-capacity data storage solutions, Seagate Technology. The agreement follows Seagate’s recent launch of a 30TB hard disk drive – a breakthrough in hard drive capacity which has been described as a milestone that marks a new era in the storage industry.
Founded over 45 years ago, Seagate has shipped over four billion terabytes of data capacity and offers a full portfolio of storage devices, systems, and services from edge to cloud including a range of products specifically designed for M&E businesses. The company’s CORVAULT system offers a unique combination of ADAPT (Autonomic Distributed Allocation Protection Technology) and ADR (Automatic Drive Regeneration) allowing for reduced maintenance and e-waste by automatically removing and repairing faulty drives to create self-healing systems. Seagate is also a pioneer in the use of heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) to increase the amount of data that can be stored on individual platters within a hard drive – their recent launch of the the Mozaic 3+™ hard drive platform heralds unparalleled areal densities of 3 TB+ per platter while bringing down the cost, power consumption and environmental impact per TB of storage.
“It’s not hard to see why some of the most well-known storage and compute brands in the world rely on Seagate to build storage solutions on their behalf,” says Jason Cowan, MD of Jigsaw24 Media. “Their high-performance, scalable and sustainable data storage solutions are not only ground-breaking, but they’re also proven to meet the demands of media and entertainment workflows. Seagate is a valuable addition to our vendor partner portfolio and an important part of our future plans.”
The agreement comes as many media technology suppliers move towards software strategies, driving an increased demand for whitebox hardware and software-defined storage solutions. As part of the new vendor partnership agreement, representatives from Jigsaw24 Media’s sales and technical teams have recently completed training on Seagate’s systems, earning the media systems integrator the status of an accredited supplier.
“Jigsaw24 Media and Seagate are incredibly well aligned in terms of our approach to technology as well as our business ethos,” said Andy Palmer, Seagate’s UK channel lead for enterprise data and cloud solutions. “Both companies are driven to deliver innovative solutions that solve real-world problems – and to do so in a way that is sustainable and commercially successful. We’re delighted to be working with the team at Jigsaw24 Media.”
