WESTMINSTER, GREATER LONDON — April 8, 2024 – MASV, the fastest large transfer solution for video professionals, has appointed Jigsaw24 Media as a premier partner. The announcement follows the companies’ first project together, implementing an ongoing file-transfer solution for the BFI National Archive.
MASV was founded in 2019 and quickly gained popularity when remote workflows became essential during the pandemic. The company markets itself as providing ‘the world’s fastest file transfer for video’ and is capable of accelerating multiple terabytes at once, entirely over the web, without file compression – making it ideal for M&E workflows. The browser-based platform aims to simplify media file sharing while maintaining top-notch performance and security. MASV, a TPN Gold Shield vendor, operates on an encrypted AWS cloud, offering robust features like secure upload portals, channel bonding, and automated storage ingest to speed up video workflows and give creative teams more time to focus on their craft. Headquartered in Canada, MASV serves clients globally. Partnering with Jigsaw24 Media allows MASV to expand their reach internationally with a trusted provider that has deep ties and expert knowledge within the UK-based media ecosystem.
“MASV is a product geared for the future and, from the first time we saw it in action, we knew that it would be an important addition to our portfolio,” says Tim Bridger, sales director at Jigsaw24 Media. “The product’s ease of deployment and integration with other tools makes it ideal for modern media workflows where flexibility is key.”
Commercial flexibility was the deciding factor in the partners’ first joint project for long-term Jigsaw24 Media client, the BFI National Archive who needed a cost-effective file transfer solution for their work on international restoration projects with labs and archives around the world. However, because they couldn’t accurately predict their consumption rates, they were reluctant to enter into MASV’s standard usage-based agreement. Jigsaw24 Media negotiated an exclusive12-month contract with MASV on their behalf.
Kieron Webb head of conservation at the BFI National Archive says, “We had tested MASV’s file transfer capabilities and were impressed by how easy the platform is to use and maintain. MASV gives us one single point of upload which means we don’t have to open our firewall for each lab’s transfer service, making our workflows both more efficient and secure. Working with Jigsaw24 Media meant we were able to negotiate a commercial model that met our ongoing needs while retaining the flexibility of a pay-as-you-go package.”
“In selecting Jigsaw24 Media to become a premier partner, it was important that they not only understand our technology and the local market, but that they represent our business ethos as well,” says Jon Riis, vice president of partner success for MASV. “Jigsaw24 Media and MASV have a strong mutual story – the creative use of technology to solve media challenges is core to both companies and we look forward to working on many more successful projects together.”
