PRG (Production Resource Group, LLC), the world’s leading provider of production solutions for entertainment and live events, has made significant investments in video technology and talent to strengthen its TV & film services in the UK. The new acquisitions include over 1500 square meters of LED video panels and the addition of nine video and broadcast specialists to the 200-strong UK team.

In the last few months, PRG UK has more than quadrupled their inventory of high-resolution 2&3mm LED video displays. The business has also more than doubled its stock of Roe’s Black Marble BM4 LED flooring with glass finish and added VISS NX7 matt flooring to its rental stock. Finally, 500sqm of creative and high-resolution LED was added to PRG’s existing inventory of over 2000sqm of 4-5mm displays to support existing shows.

PRG UK’s TV and Film department has also seen significant growth in recent months. New additions to the team include the return of Ian Jones who previously worked his way up through the ranks of the company’s TV and Film department over 12 years before being recruited as a project director by Anna Valley in 2023. Jones has taken up the role of head of video for production at PRG UK and is joined by several industry-recognised colleagues including Tim Oliver, Doug Hammond, Marek Kowalewski, Ant Govan and Ben Marles.

“I’m excited to be back at PRG UK and to have played a part in shaping the TV and Film team which now boasts diverse abilities across account and project management and technical roles,” says Jones. “By investing in full-time staff and developing broadcast expertise internally, PRG UK is well positioned to grow our market share while maintaining the high-quality service and support we’re known for.”

With 38 offices located in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, PRG is the world’s leading technology provider to the entertainment and events sectors. In addition to offering a complete range of services to clients within the live music, theatre, sports, gaming, corporate, and events markets, PRG is a trusted supplier to the TV & film industry. In the UK, the company built its reputation providing lighting for large-format awards shows such as The Brits and The MTV Europe Music Awards. After PRG’s acquisition of VER in 2018, the company expanded its UK services to include video provision on light entertainment shows like Dancing on Ice and The Masked Singer. The recent investment in additional video equipment and expertise is part of the PRG UK’s strategy to grow their TV & Film customer base.

“PRG is already a trusted provider of lighting and video services to local TV and film companies, but these acquisitions will open up new parts of that market where video and broadcast expertise is the first priority,” says Richard Williams, PRG’s UK managing director. “In the short time since we’ve grown our inventory and team, we’ve already seen a return on this investment through new work we’ve picked up in daytime gameshows and live sport broadcasts.”
