Densitron will showcase its latest world-leading HMI and control system innovations for broadcast manufacturers and systems integrators at IBC 2023.

As well as presenting its suite of ready to use product control panels and IDS Control System, the company will introduce an exciting new technology, Jogdial, which provides a vital new component in its ongoing efforts to enrich the tactile experience of future sets.

Powered by ARM or X86 computer processors, these solutions can be white labelled by broadcast manufacturers to enable cost-efficient product development or made available to systems integrators and end-users to enhance their studio workflows.

The company will shine a particular spotlight on its tactile and haptics innovations, including the  new 2RU Haptics product, which delivers a ‘building block’ HMI that can be incorporated into vendors’ own designs, and the Tactile HMI Evaluation Kit.

With haptic technology being adopted by an increasing number of top-tier tech companies, it’s clear that the feedback and confirmation benefits of touch are paving the way for a new way of working in broadcast media and beyond.

Densitron is also delighted to announce that it will be introducing the new Jogdial encoder for use with Densitron’s 2RU rack-mounted range.

Available in 1 and 2 knob forms, the Jogdial was previewed to a warm reception at this year’s NAB, but IBC 2023 will represent the technology’s official launch.

Pete Semerak, SVP product at Densitron, explains: “This remarkable advancement enables the seamless integration of multiple rotary encoders, ranging from 1 to 32, through a single USB connection to various hardware devices.

“As a result, our esteemed customers can now enjoy the convenience of utilizing up to 32 encoders as plug-and-play solutions – all via a single USB connection. Moreover, these encoders can be effortlessly interconnected internally, creating a daisy chain effect.

“We are thrilled to announce that this technology is now available on our widely acclaimed 2RU platform, further expanding the possibilities and versatility of our standard product offerings.”

Densitron will also highlight the continued global success of its IDS Control System, which includes a growing product ecosystem (with 100 new pieces of broadcast equipment recently becoming compliant) and cloud deployment option.

Mark Price, SVP Densitron broadcast sales, remarks: “IDS has been evolving for over 16 years to provide a solution to many ongoing problems within the broadcast workflow.

“As systems become more complicated and user requirements change, IDS brings simplicity to the operation. The software integrates with all of your critical technology systems and allows you to control and display what you want from one central location.

“The result is that it significantly eases the burden on your key resources so they can concentrate on what they do best – bringing greater efficiency through ease of use and managing time more effectively.

“IDS is the only control system you need for your broadcast and technology workflows.”

In addition to its own stand, Densitron will also have a presence on the booth of long-term technology partner BirdDog and Grass Valley.
