Blue Lucy will bring the cloud to earth with a focus on ground-cloud hybrid workflows at IBC 2023.
The company, one of the pioneers of cloud-based SaaS solutions, will showcase its flagship product, BLAM – a media and business system integration platform designed to meet the complex production and distribution needs of the multiplatform age.
BLAM combines media management, workflow orchestration and operational task management in a single solution.
At IBC 2018, before the pandemic drove widespread cloud adoption, the company extolled the benefits of cloud workflows by exhibiting from a stand constructed entirely out of balloons in the shape of a cloud.
At this year’s show, the Blue Lucy team aims to dispel the perception that entirely cloud-based models are the panacea for all media operators.
They will demonstrate how media companies can get the best of both worlds by showcasing real-world operational workloads running in cloud-ground hybrid environments.
It will also reveal how BLAM’s 450+ microservices – Blidgets – connect content production tools and business systems to provide harmonised and highly automated production and fulfilment operations.
The Blue Lucy team are also keen to discuss operational problems or business opportunities that operators are trying to address and demonstrate how BLAM can deliver outcomes-focused solutions at any scale.
“There is a significant disconnect between the supplier and user sides of the media technology industry in respect of the cloud,” says Blue Lucy CEO, Julian Wright.
“The supply side is all cloud in a “you’re in the cloud or nowhere” sense and industry commentators posit that media operations are either cloud or on-prem.
“However, in the real world, most media operators utilise a blend of on-prem technologies and cloud-based services that best and most cost effectively meet their business need.
“At IBC2023 we’ll demonstrate how Blue Lucy customers are harmonising on-prem systems and cloud services and applications to create highly efficient and cost-effective media workflows with BLAM.”
