Densitron, the global leader in display, touchscreen, computing and specialised ODM, has revealed details of three senior appointments as the company continues to grow its sales, business development and advanced engineering capacities.

Allan Delaurier joins Densitron as Vice President of Sales, Americas, Chris Strellis has become Director of Advanced Engineering and Takao Okada is Business Development Manager – HMI Products.

Based in the US, Delaurier brings a wealth of sales, product and account management expertise at leading broadcast & media technology companies to his new role as Densitron’s Vice-President of Sales, Americas.

Most recently the Chief Revenue Officer at media production software company Glookast, Delaurier has also served in senior roles at TVU Networks, Avid and Grass Valley.

“The key reason why I joined Densitron is because ‘people sell to people’,” says Delaurier. “I have known Pete Semerak, for many years, and through him I was introduced to Mark Price.

“After spending time with Mark, I learned very quickly why Densitron was a great fit for me.

“In addition to the culture of Densitron, my extensive experience in the broadcast and media & entertainment industry led me to believe I could make a huge impact for Densitron in growing the business.

“Therefore, I have joined the Densitron team to show the American markets what we have to offer and work with our customers to enhance an everlasting partnership.”

Densitron’s newly-appointed Director of Advanced Engineering, Chris Strellis, has worked in the broadcast industry for more than 25 years.

Based in the UK, Strellis has served in senior roles at Snell (now part of Grass Valley) and most recently as Engineering Manager at Grass Valley, where he was involved in designing and developing control panels and processing modules for live production.

He also managed a distinguished team of hardware and software engineers, and worked closely with some of the biggest names in broadcast, including the BBC, BT Sport, Eurosport, Discovery, NEP and Sky.

“I have been aware of Densitron’s presence for more than 15 years, and during my time at Snell we partnered with them on OLED displays for the Maverik switcher panel,” says Strellis.

“In that capacity, I already knew Bazile Peter and Chris Goodhall, and was aware of Pete Semerak from his good reputation when we were both at Grass Valley.

“Joining Densitron was an easy decision to make so I could contribute my broadcast knowledge and continue to guide this field in highly exciting times.”

Takao Okada joins Densitron as Business Development Manager/HMI Products having served in a number of senior management and business development roles at technology, engineering and manufacturing companies based in Japan.

With a strong track-record of building customer and supplier relationships, Okada’s most recent positions were as Business Development Specialist at URANO Co and General Manager, Product Development Dept at TouchPanel Laboratories Co.

“Densitron offers me the opportunity to lead business development for HMI – which is a hugely exciting area of technology – and draw upon my experience in sales planning for semiconductors, displays and touch panels,” says Okada.

“I also look forward to collaborating with our engineers and product developers to ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers. The opportunity to do such dynamic work as part of a global team is one that I will relish.”

Simon Jones, CEO, Densitron, comments: “The past 18 months have been massively important in determining the future course of Densitron at a very exciting and fast-moving time in the broadcast & media industry.

“Allan, Chris and Takao bring a wealth of experience that will benefit the entire business as we continue to grow the profile of our market-leading solutions, such as the IDS Control System, and enhance our offering in areas such as haptics and tactile control.

“They are going to be instrumental to Densitron’s next phase of development, and I am delighted that they have chosen us to work with us.”
