Grass Valley, the leading technology provider for the live media and entertainment market, has welcomed Rodrick Smith as its new Vice President of Sales in Latin America.

His appointment emphasizes Grass Valley’s continued commitment to support the growth of the M&E industry across the region.

Smith joins Grass Valley with over 16 years of sales leadership within the broadcast industry and cloud business.

Previously, Smith served as the Director of Sales at Evertz where he spearheaded the development of the LATAM business and built a deep understanding of the unique needs of the region.

Subsequently, he held the position of Account Executive at Intel where he worked exclusively in the cloud domain space, working with Cloud Service and SaaS providers to drive performance enhancements and cost efficiencies across their all-deployed workloads.

This unique background enables Smith to help customers build the production model that works best for their needs whether that is expanding on existing technology or building a path to new operational platforms.

“I’m extremely happy to return to the region with the strategy that we have,” said Rodrick Smith, VP Sales LATAM, Grass Valley. “It’s ideal for any M&E company wishing to grow.

“Grass Valley can provide a complete production chain that supports our customers’ familiar workflows while at the same time adding new agile capability to create more content for the various distribution platforms that are the reality of today’s industry.”

Andrew Cross, CEO Grass Valley, said: “We are pleased to have a trusted executive with Rodrick’s extensive experience to lead our team in Latin America.

“We are confident that he and our outstanding team in the region will be instrumental in accompanying our customers through their technology transitions.”

Grass Valley has a dedicated presence in Latin America with offices in São Paulo, Brazil and a dedicated team to attend to customers’ needs from pre-sales to support.

“It’s an honor to lead such an exceptional team. We have so many well-experienced and trained people. We have a larger local team than any other manufacturer in the region. It’s the perfect group to support the digital transition of our industry,” said Smith.
